How Much Should You Pay for a Ghillie Suit?
How much should you pay for a ghillie suit?
It depends on what purpose you need this effective piece of camouflage.
Some ghillie suits can soar to over $500.00, depending on the company and
on the technology used to create the suit. The
most expensive items are complete suits, which are 3-4 pieces, and usually
including a headpiece as well as trousers and a poncho.
You may be able to find a less expensive ghillie suit if you buy only a
portion of a complete suit, such as a jacket or poncho.
If you enjoy working with your hands then you may choose to build your
own ghillie suit. A full ghillie
suit without any special cost-inflating features sells for less than $200.00.
Some of these suits will be ultra-light, be specially designed for use
the bow hunter or be designed for stealth missions.
A ghillie jacket on the other hand will sell for an average of $70.00.
The advantage here is that a ghillie jacket still has many of the same
features not included with “cheaper” ghillie suits, such as cord locks,
elastic-cuffed sleeves and fire retardant. The
disadvantages may not be noticeable, particularly if you hunt while crouching.
There are also head and shoulders suits that are similarly priced, but that
cover a person’s head, arms and upper torso.
At half the price of a full sized suit, a ghillie jacket or half suit
could be all you need to improve your hunting.
You can find ghillie suits available in different styles of moss and dirty,
appropriate for various landscapes (for example woodland, moss or desert) and
climates. While there are ghillie
suits available at various stores online and in a few sporting good retail
locations, SniperGhillies.com offers some of the lowest prices for the highest
quality ghillie suits.
